HERE IS WHY YOU SHOULD GO TO A CONCERT ALONE AT LEAST ONE TIME IN YOUR LIFE
I went to my first solo concert in Atlanta and it was the best experience ever. What sparked this idea is that I’ve been on this healing journey and have been trying to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone and do more things alone. To be transparent coming out of a four-year relationship has been challenging for me to get to know myself on a deeper level and show up in ways for myself that I have never done in the past. I have been enjoying my vibe and falling in love with the person I aspire to be. I’m not perfect and don't want to portray that ever on any of my platforms. I wanted to encourage you guys who may be struggling to step out and try something you always wanted to do.
Here is why you should go to a concert alone at least one time in your life
GOING TO A CONCERT ALONE WILL HELP TO BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE
When I think of concerts I think of me and my homegirls pulling up looking cute, and lit, rapping or singing the artist's songs out loud bonding over each lyric. So when I first decided to go to the concert my anxiety was at 1000 I was thinking of all the things that could go wrong. Most importantly I didn’t want to look “lonely”! I pushed myself to replace those thoughts with bad b*tch energy. I started to think about all the positives of going to a concert alone can bring to me and my energy. I led with the affirmation “it takes a bad b*tch to show up to a concert alone.” That’s a whole different level of confidence because it shows you can still have a great time without having your close friends/ people around. It shows that you're capable of enjoying your vibe and company.
YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE THAT MEMORY OF YOU SEEING ONE OF YOUR FAV ARTIST
Yall know when your fav artist drops them tour dates the first thing you look for is your city or the city nearby. That’s exactly how I felt when Flo Milli dropped her tour dates and she said she was bringing the Houston artist Monaleo along! felt like it was god speaking to me "girl if you don't book that ticket.” On top of that, they had two tour dates for Atlanta and I was off work for one of those dates. I don't have too many friends who listen to Flo Milli and Monaleo as much as me which sparked the idea of me just going to the concert solo. Sometimes in life, your friends and family may not always be available or have the same interest in the things you do but you can’t let that stop you from creating memories and having a great time. During this period of my life, I needed Flo Milli and Monaleo to remind me who the fu*k I am especially after coming out of a toxic situation.
YOU WILL MEET NEW PEOPLE AND POTENTIALLY BUILD FRIENDSHIPS
Yall know what’s funny this concert was originally a solo event but I met a homegirl in my shared uber ride who was going to the concert alone too. Look at GOD!!! We ended up hanging out the entire night. At first, I was in my head like this was about to be so weird but everything happened so naturally and we had a good a** time drinking tequila + pineapple yelling to the top of our lungs! We ended up exchanging numbers at the end of the show because the vibes were there! On top of that, we met a few other people just by rapping flo milli songs together. This one guy who was a big fan was going crazy when flo mill came on stage “ these n*ggas weak they been texting me all week just let me be.. blowing me up I’m trying to sleep” we looked at each other and started finishing the rest of the lyrics smiling ear to ear.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYONE BUT YOURSELF! EMBRACE THE FREEDOM
Yall I was an hour late to the concert not on purpose but by accident! Imagine if I had friends waiting on me they would probably be upset. The beauty of going to a concert alone is that you're not on anyone's time but yours. Also, when you get to the location you can move throughout the venue as you please. It showcases how free and confident you can be in this space.
If you been looking for a sign to go to a concert alone this is it! Remember confidence is key when it comes to anything you do in life.
