I SHOT WITH A BLACK OWNED LUXURY BRAND YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT

I was shocked when this brand slid into my email and reached out to collaborate. The collaboration was different from the ones I typically receive when I have control over shooting the content myself and submitting for approval. This collaboration would allow me to meet in person with the brand and have them shoot me with the product. 

Brand Conversation

 The brand admired my content on my instagram profile and decided to use me to showcase their new handbags. Adara Mizar is a black-owned brand based in North Carolina. The goal of this collab was for Adara Mizar to come to the Atlanta, GA market to shoot lifestyle content creators and models to help bring more exposure to their new luxury handbags. For those of you that may be wondering how these collaborations come about for small creators like myself please see below.

The initial conversation went like this: "We are currently looking for paid sponsored ads and would like to know if you are interested in being a part of our influencer marketing campaign. 

After I confirmed with the brand that I’m interested in learning more about this opportunity we started to discuss the rates, contracts and what was expected of me the day of the shoot. It’s important when you work with a brand to use this time to dive deep into the content deliverables, expectations of collaboration, and featured product. Take your time when reading the contract and if you're confused about verbiage or what's expected this is the time to speak up and discuss. Never sign a contract you don't understand. This will allow both parties to be on the same page. It’s important to have great communication throughout this process it shows that you’re serious about your work, reliable and the brand will remember this for future opportunities. 

Day of the shoot

On the day of the shoot, I met with the Social Media Manager at the Hyatt in Midtown Atlanta. I came styled in my outfit and I received my Adara Mizar bag to shoot with my look. We loved the aesthetic of the hotel building and decided to use that location for the shoot. The goal was to go for an everyday casual on-the-go look.
